Naked Heart uses Hexayurts for several purposes:
Cuddle Yurt
Journey Space
Private Dormitory Space
Additionally, Hexayurt technology is used to create the generator sound enclosure and the Vegetable Coolbox.
All the Hexayurts used in camp are H15 models with 6' sides. You can read more about these yurts here
There are some important distinctions between the materials on the web and our fleet of yurts
1. Some of our yurts have permanent doors. These yurts have their side panels permanently bonded. Since they store in the trailer, it doesn't matter that they are 6' wide so we leave them assembled.
2. Some of our yurts use material that is thicker than 1". This makes the seams a little different than shown on the web sites with larger gaps.
3. When some of the yurts have interiors installed, there are little mounting plates that must be inserted at each corner along the top of the walls before the roof is put on.
4. We have bathtub floors for most of the yurts. These are specially sewn waterproof floors that will contain the bottom edge of the yurt. A ratchet strap goes around the perimeter and the top edge is sealed with shrink-wrap.
5. Yurts that have interior lighting installed must have an extension cord slid through the final roof seam at the very top before it is taped shut.
6. We still use bi-axial 6" tape for assembly but many of the permanant edge seals and hinges are made with a special white vinyl tape.
7. Some of the yurts have air conditioners installed in openings through the sides.
